      Mojang Studios Internship

SWE Intern on the Minecraft Education Team

My fourth internship at Microsoft took place within Mojang Studios Minecraft Education team. During this internship I was responsible for creating an entirely new version of the Classroom Mode application. Classroom Mode is an application for teachers to monitor and assist their students while they are using the Minecraft Client. Some teachers are not familiar or comfortable with Minecraft's user interface, so having a clean, easy to read dashboard that shows all of their students, the worlds they are on, and the actions and chat happening within the world, will enable teachers to better manage and teach their class.

      Wretched Depths

      Systems Engineer/Marketing Lead

Wretched Depths is an indie horror fishing game made for my University of Utah EAE Capstone class. While working on this game I served as both a systems engineer and marketing lead. I created the character journal system as well as the in game fog system. Shortly before release for Early Access I pivoted to our marketing side to drive engagement with our game.
Wretched Depths was featured as a finalist in the World Game Developer Championships 2023 Summer Season.

      Mojang Studios Internship

SWE Intern on the Automation Services Team

My third internship at Microsoft took place within Mojang Studios Automation Services team. I worked to create a new web-based UI for the existing build platform, BuildBott. This helped me to significantly expand my knowlege of both JS and React as well as learn Axios. This new build platform UI is used across Mojang internally.

      emBARK

      Lead Engineer

emBARK is a side scrolling platformer game created for my Tradidional Game Development class at the University of Utah. The story features a dog who has learned of a mystical golden bone deep within an ancient temple. During our 4 months of development I served as our Lead Engineer creating and refing our movement system and trap systems. We built our game in Unity, so this game required knowlege of the engine itself and C#.

      Microsoft Excel Internship

SWE Intern on the Excel Alpha Team

In my second Microsoft internship, I returned to the Excel Alpha team. For this internship I worked on revamping the UI for the filter feature within Excel. I was able to implement the new UI across all platforms which took knowledge of React, C#, C++, and Objective C. The new UI is actively used across every platform.

      Skyglow

      Lead Engineer

Skyglow is a side scrolling platformer about a child in a dystiopian society that can no longer see the stars. The player learns about the effects of light pollution as they traverse the city to turn off power to superfluous power generators. For our 4 months of development I served as the Lead Engineer. This was my first time working with Gamemaker Studio 2, so it took some time to learn the engine and its custom scripting language.

      Microsoft Excel Internship

Explorer Intern on the Card Feature

My first Microsoft internship took place on the Excel Alpha team during the development of the Card feature. The card feature is what pops up if you set a box to a data type such as a person or place. I got to work with one other intern to completely redevelop the UI of these cards. In the end, the new UI wasn't used but it was a rigourous learning process for React and C#.
